Obituary of Mildred Darlene Nelson

Talladega: Mildred “Darlene” Nelson, 66, passed away on May 30, 2018. Funeral services for Ms. Nelson will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home. Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Interment will be at Marble City Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.

Before becoming disabled, Darlene volunteered and loved assisting with Sunshine Saturday. More than anything, she loved children.

Darlene is preceded in death by her father, Hoyt Hill; stepfather, Horace Goray; two brothers, Jerry and Joe Goray; grandparents, Porter, Gladys, and Vera Dobson. She is survived by her mother, Mildred Goray; brother, Robert Goray (Amy); sisters, Janice Goray, Diane Morgan, and Carolyn Lee; special friend and caregiver, Toni Horn; host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
