Obituary of Joe Clyde Stewart
Joe Clyde Stewart, 75, of Munford, passed away at St. Vincent’s hospital in Birmingham on February 19, 2018. The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm on Friday, February 23, 2018. A graveside service will follow at 1 PM at Pine Hill Memorial Park in Talladega with John Ross officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Haynes Stewart, daughter, Stephanie Stewart, sons, Sean Stewart, Ben (Rebecca) Gallahair, Tim (Amber) Gallahair, grandchildren, Raegan Maxwell, Kristen Stewart, Karley Stewart, Landon Gallahair, Rylan Gallahair, Sophie Gallahair, Brooklyn Gallahair, Rhett Gallahair, sisters, Louise (Stevie) Stevenson, Gene Ann Wilder, Martha “Mott” Stephens and lifelong friend and fishing buddy, Clinton Stephens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Lee and Clytie Bell Stewart, and a sister, Evelyn Askew Trumbo.
Mr. Stewart was a 1960 graduate of Munford High School, worked as a skilled carpenter, loved turkey hunting and fat cat fishing, and loved any activity that involved his grandbabies.
He was a member of the Betta-View Hills Church of Christ.
Pallbearers will be: Tim Gallahair, Ben Gallahair, Greg Clark, Shane Clark, Willie Haynes, Chase Stephens, Brian “Homer” Stephens and Ronald Lackey.
The family would like to thank the doctors and medical staff of St. Vincent’s cardiovascular and the staff of St. Vincent’s ICU unit for the wonderful care given to Mr. Stewart over the past few weeks.
