Obituary of J.W. Gallahar

Munford

Funeral service for Mr. John Wood Gallahar (JW), 81, of Munford, will be Thursday, February 22, 2018, at 10:00 am at Ironaton Church of Christ. Cliff Goodwin will officiate, and burial will follow in Ironaton Church of Christ Cemetery. His family will receive friends Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega.

Mr. Gallahar passed away January 19, 2018 at his residence in Munford.

Mr. Gallahar was a founding member of Ironaton Church of Christ. He worked for Gallahar Construction until he retired in 2001.

He was the beloved husband of Linda Cooper Gallahar; former husband of the late Martha Helen Pitts Gallahar.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Colvin Gallahar, Hubert Gallahar; sister, Mary; parents, John Henry and Arvertie Bradford Gallahar.

Survivors include his son, Jeffrey (Carolyn) Gallahar, son, Phillip (Amy) Gallahar, son, Kendrick (Mandy); 11 grandchildren, Elyse Gallahar, Seth Gallahar, Bo (Carrie) Strickland, Jennifer Strickland, Ellen (Joseph) Culver, Kelsey Gallahar, Tyler Gallahar, Savanna Gardner, Wyatt Gallahar, Abby Gallahar and John-Robert Gallahar.

11 great-grandchildren, Merolyn Gallahar, Jaxson Gallahar, Caleb, Chloe, Corbin Strickland, Drake (Morgan) Curry, Mackenzie (Whitney) Walley, Isa-belle Arrington, Aly and Lennon Culver.

4 great-great grandchildren, Levi, Liam Curry, Shealynn and Davaney Walley

2 brothers, Doug Gallahar, Royce (Barbara) Gallahar; 2 sisters, Janice (Jerry) Stone and Elaine (Gary) Griffith.

Pallbearers will be Mike Gallahar, David Gallahar, Roger Griffith, Chip Gallahar, Keith Haney and Brian Stone.
