Obituary of Alan Ray Carden

Funeral service for Alan Ray Carden, 64 of Texas formerly of Talladega will be Friday, April 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Rev. Shad Smith, Rev. Donnie Thompson and Rev. Phillip Olsen. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park. His family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 pm at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Mr. Carden passed away April 19, 2014 in Dallas TX. He was a native of Talladega and lived in Mesquite TX for the past 8 years. Talladega High School graduate of 1967. He worked as a machinist and was owner/operator of Carden Machine and Tool. He was a member of Mimosa Lane Baptist Church and a member of the Thursday Night Men’s Group. He retired from the National Guard with 22 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mavis Carden. His survivors include his wife, Cherry Carden, son, Shane Carden (Amy). Daughter, Stacy Carden, grandchildren, Caitlin Carden, Jada Carden, Brady Carden, and Ashley, Katelyn and Tyler, brothers, Donald Carden, Mark Carden, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jason Gurley, Chris Gurley, Lee Gurley, Clint Shaddix, Cotton Freeman, Tommy Knight, and Jamie Wheeler. The Thursday Night Men’s Group and The members of Dry Valley Baptist Church of Lincoln will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
