Obituary of William Daniel Nabors
William Daniel (Billy Dan) Nabors, 78, of Talladega, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday, December 28, 2017.
Graveside services will be held at Pine Hill Memorial Park Saturday, December 30th at 2 pm with Will Einhorn officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Talladega Church of Christ prior to graveside.
Mr. Nabors is survived by his loving wife, Jean; a daughter, Sherri (Michael Toms); son-in-law, Gary Taylor; sister, Sandra Nabors McClellan; brother, Robert Edward Nabors Jr.; aunts, Marie Keen and Helen Lackey.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert E. and Edna Pearl Nabors and a daughter, Billie Jean Taylor, all of Talladega.
He had four grandsons, Eric Merkel, Mark Taylor, Jeffery Smith, Hunter Smith; a granddaughter Amanda Merkel Einhorn (Will) and a great-granddaughter, Addison Michele Einhorn.
Billy Dan was a loving father, husband, granddad and friend to all. He loved his Auburn Tigers and was a member of Talladega Creek Baptist Church where he enjoyed the Men’s Sunday Class. Mr. Dan and Ms. Jean loved to travel and did so extensively. Mr. Dan worked at Bemiston for many years and also with the Talladega County Sheriffs department. He proudly served in the National Guard before retiring. In later years he worked with his wife Jean at their tanning business. He became known as Mr. Dan the Tan Man and greeted everyone with a smile. He will be greatly missed.
