Obituary of Robert Earl Hickman Sr.

Robert Earl Hickman, 84, passed away on November 14, 2017 at Talladega Healthcare Center. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Talladega. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 2:00 pm prior to service. Cal McIntyre and Andy Mims will officiate.

He retired from Anniston Army Depot where he was a leadman mechanic. He also served as a Deacon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he served on the building and grounds committee. He was a graduate of Bibb Graves High and on the state championship basketball team. Mr. Hickman was also a veteran of the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Hickman and brother, Edward Hickman.

He is survived by sons, Robert Hickman Jr. (Linda), Kenneth Hickman (Rita); sister, Polly Pitts; brothers, Charlie Hickman, Tommy Hickman; 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
