James David Goetz, 51, of Talladega passed away at UAB in Birmingham on October 19, 2017. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Kenny Nix and Roger Gunter, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home on Saturday October 21, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

David was a native of Athens, GA and employed at Kasai North America, Inc. He was a member of Simple Church in Oxford, AL, an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and fisherman, as well as a loving husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Goetz; children, Magan Quint (Matthew), Shauna Goetz, Kaycee Tyson, Tiffani Tyson, Jayden Horne and Allyssa Goetz; parents, Ken and Joyce Nix; sisters, Marlena Whitney (Corey), Deena Goetz; brother, Kenny Nix (Kasha) and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Annie Lou Towe, Otis Towe, Louise Goetz, Vernon Goetz and neice, Kennis Nix.

Pallbearers will be Kennon Smith, Glenn Allgood, Jon Wesson, Eric Hurst, Nick Byers and Jason Towe.
