Obituary of Charles Clinton Jackson, Jr.
Charles Clinton Jackson, Jr. died in his home on October 8, 2017 in Talladega, Alabama due to complications following an extended illness. He was 78.
Mr. Jackson was born on November 30, 1938 in Indepencnce, Alabama to Charles C Jackson Sr and Kitty Irene Jackson. His family moved to Talladega in 1952. In 1957 Mr. Jackson and his father opened Jackson and Son Auto Parts; which was still in operation until his death.
During his life Mr. Jackson was a member of multiple organizations. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963, a founding member/deacon of Fair Park Baptist Church, on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Salvage Association and on the Board of Directors National Union Insurance Company.
Mr. Jackson was a loving and devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Ophelia, of 58 years; his son and daughter-in-law Trei and Alison Jackson of Wetumpka, Alabama; his daughter and son-in-law Amy and Joe Hoffman of Talladega Alabama; 4 grandchildren Sean Hoffman, Dawson Hoffman, Madeline Jackson, and Clint Jackson.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on October 11, 2017 at Oak Hill cemetery. Visitation will take place on October 10, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mr. Jackson’s life.
