William H. Wilson, Jr. entered into his Heavenly home on August 25, 2017 at his residence in Pell City with his family by his side. He has now joined his mother Mamie Wilson, sister Sue Swearingen, children Mike Copeland and Jackie Harrison, and his grandson Wesley Copeland. Remaining for now are his wife of 63 years Christine Wilson; children Steve Copeland (Sam) of Standish, ME, Eva Arnold (Morgan) of Pell City, and daughter-in-law Kay Copeland Richmond of Owenboro, KY; sister Betty Douglas of Cross City, FL; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wilson was a proud veteran with service to our country in the U.S. Army. He completed a career as a millwright at Kimberly Clark in Childersburg, AL. He was a long time member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where he attended regularly, and a member of Ben M. Jacobs Lodge #643 in Pell City where he had received his fifty year pin. Mr. Wilson enjoyed fishing and spending time on the lake with friends and family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and a devout Christian. He was loved by many and will be missed by many more.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, with Rev. Patrick Horne, Rev. Craig Gilley, and Rev. Joe Joyner officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Bynum, AL. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Warren Copeland, Lee Copeland, Brett Copeland, Mike Schwartz, Jeremy McCullars, and Ken Burnham.
