Obituary of Billy Joe Gaither

Billy Joe Gaither, of Talladega, passed away August 23, 2017, at Citizens BMC. The family will receive friends Friday, August 25, 2017, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at Usrey Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm in Pine Hill Memorial Park with Craig Little officiating.

Mr. Gaither was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega. He worked for Bemis Bag Company for 23 years and retired from Synaflex Rubber Products after 24 years and was of the Baptist faith. He was a great man and will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Mary Gaither.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Gaither; sons, Mike Gaither, Kenny Gaither; daughters, Pamela Challender (Mike), Karen Spratlin; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of brothers, sisters, and extended family.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers . In lieu of flowers family requests donations to Southside Baptist Church.
