Obituary of Judge Wallace Wyatt

~~The Funeral Service for Judge Wallace Wyatt, 93, will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Ashville with the Rev. Danny Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 1, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City.
Judge Wyatt was born in Cool Springs, Alabama, the second son of Pauline and Joseph Edward Wyatt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Alice Lucille Murphree; two brothers, Ray Wyatt and Edward Wyatt; two nephews, Phillip Edward Wyatt and James Ray Wyatt, Jr.; and by his loving wife of 62 years, Eleanor McKinney Wyatt.
He is survived by one son, Judge Wallace Wyatt, Jr (Brenda); three daughters, Carol Jane Wagner (Harvey), Eleanor Kay Hopper (George), and Vicki Lynn Wyatt; grandchildren, Audrey Wallace Wyatt, Virginia Wyatt Perkins (Deke), Harvey Wagner, III (Katie), Dr. Travis Wagner (Stephanie), William Hopper (Erica), Rebecca Hopper Dix (Evan), C.J. Pippin and Ashley Pippin; and by seven great-grandchildren.
Judge Wyatt went to school in Ashville after which he joined the United States Army, serving in France and Germany during World War II.
After a 29 year career with Alabama Gas Corporation, he was appointed Probate Judge of St. Clair County by Governor George Wallace in 1975. He served as Probate Judge for 14 years, retiring in January of 1989.
Judge Wyatt loved his family and the people of St Clair County.
Pallbearers will be Evan Dix, Harvey Wagner, III, Dr. Travis Wagner, C.J. Pippin, William Hopper, and Deke Perkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of Ashville Lodge # 186.
