Rosa Lee W. Shiflett, 88, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Visitation will be Thursday, April 20, 2017, from 9:30 to 10:30 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega. The celebration of Ms. Shiflett's life will be held at 11:00, Thursday, April 20, 2017, in the Mausoleum at Pine Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Pat Hurst officiating. Ms. Shiflett was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Shiflett. She is survived by daughters, Kay Gurley and Gay Hurst (Pat) of Lineville; grandchildren, Heath Mattox of Lineville, Heather Rooks (Mark) of Lineville, Griff Hill (Shannon), and Elena Robertson (Adam) of Lineville; great grandchildren, Canyon Mattox, Brandon Mattox, Andrea Mattox, Clay Rooks, Jolie Rooks, Madison Hill, Marley Hill, Mason Hill, Reese Robertson, Elynn Robertson, and Drake Robertson. Ms. Shiflett is a native of Clay County and a graduate of Clay County High School. Most of Ms. Shiflett’s life was spent in Talladega where she was known as Rosie and the owner of Griffin’s Trailer Park. As passionate as she was about running a tight ship, she was equally compassionate and always doing for others. Ms. Shiflett served as a Pink Lady at Citizen’s Baptist Medical Center for over 20 years. She was a member of Hepzibah Baptist Church where she enjoyed fellowship with the ladies in the Esther Sunday School Class taught by Mable Gunter. Pallbearers will be Clay Rooks, Adam Robertson, Griff Hill, Doug Anderson, Huck Fincher, Beaver Tinsley, and Bill Curlee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hepzibah Baptist Church, 5329 Renfroe Road, Talladega, AL 35160.
