Obituary of Sara Sparks Linkel

Sara Sparks Linkel, age 78, of Talladega passed away December 29, 2016. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with burial at Horn’s Memorial Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday. The Rev. Franky Swiney will officiate. Mrs. Linkel was a native of Clay County. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Munford where she was also a member of the adult Sunday school class. Mrs. Linkel was a graduate of Clay County High School, Class of 1957. She is predeceased by her husband Dick Linkel. She is survived by her son David Sparks, daughter Deborah McBee, eleven grand-children, one great grand-child, step-son Derek Linkel, brother Billy Horn, sister Kathy Wells and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Blake Haney, Bobby Shaddix, Brian Marler, Greg Tubbs, Jonathan Holdridge, and Tim Greeaser. Honorary pallbearers will be O’Neal Marler, Ron Horn, Chelsey Wells and Glen Horn.
