Obituary of Patricia Swinford Blackerby

Funeral service for Patricia Swinford Blackerby, 76 of Lincoln will be Friday, December 23, 2016 2:00 pm at Eureka Baptist Church. Rev. Jason Grissom and Rev. Randy Howell will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 -2:00 pm. Usrey Funeral Home will direct. Mrs. Blackerby passed away at her home December 20, 2016. She was a long time resident of Talladega County where she was an active member at Eureka Baptist Church. She was known for her work with young children and was retired from a career at the Munford Child Development Center. She was an avid Alabama fan, and travelled extensively. She loved her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her entire family. She devoted a great deal of time and effort to make the world a better place. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Blackerby, daughter, Revonda BlackerbyWright, grandson, David Wayne Wright, parents, Ray and Katie Swinford, brothers, Billy Swinford, Randy Swinford, son-in-law, Eric Parker. Mrs. Blackerby is survived by her children, Dwayne Blackerby, Debra Taber (Johnny), siblings, James Swinford (Nancy), Shirley Haynes, Brenda Drafahl (Jerry), Bonnie Ponder (Butch), Nancy Waters, Terry Swinford (Diane), grandchildren, Brett Parker (Marisa), Cody Tabor, Jamie Taber, Jillian Taber, James Taber, great-grandchildren, Joleigh Parker, Carter Parker, Gage Taber, Gracee Easterwood and Kaylon Brimer, longtime special friend Gene Dye, along with several nieces, nephews and family. Pallbearers will be Ken Ballard, Michael Hubbard, Duane Wright, Brad Ponder, Dr. Mark Ponder, Steven Swinford, and Jared Hubbard.
