Obituary of Ralph Harold Hubbard

Ralph Harold Hubbard, 82, of Sylacauga passed away November 27, 2016 at UAB Hospital. His funeral services will be 12:00 pm, Saturday, December 3, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Sylacauga, with Larry Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Hepzibah Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega.
Ralph spent his life working with wood. He began his career as a pattern maker and worked many years at Southern Alloy before opening his own business, Industrial Patterns. He recently began creating beautiful wooden-turned bowls where one of his pieces will be on display at Jewel Collins Smith Museum in Auburn, Alabama. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sylacauga.
Mr. Hubbard is preceded in death by his parents James Anthony and Kate Thomas Hubbard, wife Betty Rae Banks Hubbard, sister Sarah Faye Hubbard, and granddaughter Lilly Cate Armstrong.
He is survived by his son Stan Hubbard (Eliza), daughters Revonda Twesme (David), Traci Ash (Darren), Leigh Ann Armstrong (Craig), siblings Nancy Jim Adkins, Katherine Burkhalter (Pat), Devan Roberts (Donald), Gail Wood, Tony Hubbard(Jan), Langdon Hubbard (Kelly), Charlyn Loveless (Rob), Bethany Hubbard, grandchildren Francescha Couto, Andrew Twesme, Patrick Twesme, Catherine Twesme, Morgan Ash, Gillian Ash, Jackson Armstrong, and Luke Armstrong.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Auburn University Foundation c/0 Steve Inabinet, 317 College Street, Auburn, AL 36849, Ralph and Betty Hubbard Memorial Scholarship.
