Mr. Wallace W. "Governor" Echols, 85, of Ragland, Alabama passed away on November 20, 2016 in Birmingham. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He loved antique cars and farming. Mr. Echols was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Echols; father Winston Echols; mother Florence Gann Echols; sister Nellie Phillips; brothers Clyde Echols, Huey Echols, Clarence Echols and Bobby Echols. He is survived by his Wife of 63 years, Shirley Echols; Daughters, Judy Edgeworth (Kelly), Kathy Echols, Louvenia Layton, and Sherrie Evans (Bruce); Son, Jeff Echols (Shaleen); Sister, Nola Barksdale; Brother, Louie Echols (Sandra); Grandchildren, Matthew Edgeworth, Brett Evans (Jessica), Whitney Taylor (Bradley), Brooke Beene (Alex), Kailey Echols, and Grant Echols; Great-Granchildren, MaHaylee Evans, Peyson Evans, Chloe Taylor and Elandra Kate Beene; several nieces and nephews ; and by his special pet, Daisy. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday November 23, 2016 at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, with Rev. Doug Ford and Rev. Ted St.John officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Cemetery. The family will recieve friends Wednesday from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Sidney Paul Echols, Mark Todd Echols, Jerry Ray Phillips, Jimmy Higginbotham, Josh Echols, and Durrell Wayne Campbell.
