Obituary of Milton Jay Simmons

Mr. Milton Jay Simmons, 56 of Ashville, Alabama passed away November 16, 2016 in Birmingham. Jay enjoyed his life on the farm, especially his dogs and cows. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Frances Simmons, sister, Doris Bean, and by his loving companion, Susan Williams Bowden. Mr. Simmons is survived by his Brother, Randy Simmons; Sisters, Cindy Fayet, Emily Taylor (Mark), Joy Wallace (Dewayne), and Carrie Thompson (Clint); Children of the heart, Nick Bowden and Jana Huggins; and he was loved and will be missed by many, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday November 18, 2016 at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City with Bro. Dewayne Wallace and Mr. Mark Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Southside Pet Clinic, 256-442-4442. The family would like to say a special thanks to the Staff at Davita Dialysis in Pell City. He made many friends over the years during dialysis.
