Funeral service for Doris Holmes, 73 of Talladega will be Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Usrey Funeral Home Rev. Kevin Jones will officiate and burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 am and Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct.
Mrs. Holmes passed away at Citizens BMC November 17, 2016.
She was a native KY and a longtime resident of Chicago IL. She always had rosy cheeks and a sparkle in her eyes. She was a loving Christian woman who will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by parents, Charles and Pearl Hadley, in-laws, Joe and Helen Holmes.
Her survivors include her husband of 48 years, Joe Dan Holmes, sisters, Diane (Chuck) and Hawkins, Martha (Bobby) Holmes, Joyce (Larry) Pruitt, brother, Alfred “Al” W. (Susan) Hadley, several nieces and nephews.
