Austin Cecil Sanders of Ashville, Alabama was born December 7, 1926 and passed away on November 1, 2016 at the age of 89 at his home in Shoal Creek. Mr. Sanders was a member of Greensport Baptist Church in Shoal Creek and a WWII Army Veteran. He was retired from the Anniston Army Depot Mr. Sanders served as Chairman of St. Clair County Board of Registrars. He loved his Lord, his family, friends, and his country. He was a loving son, husband, father, and granddaddy to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kindred & Otis Sanders of Shoal Creek, sisters Orez Workman of Anniston and Louise Lund of Odenville; brother, Stanley Sanders of Margaret; and by his loving Pastor, Bro. Marlin Cox of Shoal Creek. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Joyce Love Sanders; sister,Mary Ann Crowe of Owasso, OK; sons, Harlan (Marsha) Sanders of Southside, AL, Don (Sis) Sanders of Shoal Creek, and Scott (Teresa) Sanders of Shoal Creek; grandchildren, Jesse (Lauren) Sanders, John Sanders, Leighanna (Josh) Smith, Stephanie (Jim) Browning, Chris Sanders and Scott (Christi) Mayo; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother by choice Buford Sanders; daughters by choice Deb Watson and Gail Hyatt; and by a son by choice, Gary Hanner. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, November 3, 2016 from Greensport Baptist Church with Bro. Jeremy Williams and Bro. Joe Joyner officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p at the church. Pallbearers will be Scott Mayo, Jesse Sanders, John Sanders, Chris Sanders, Jim Browning, Josh Smith, Roger Lund, Greg Love, and Russell Love. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Lackey, Mack Harris, and Sonny Daniel. The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. John Wilborn, Dr. Joe Labbe and the staff at Ashville Dental Center, Gadsden Cancer Center Staff, Ashville Drugs, members of Greensport Baptist Church, Shoal Creek Community, friends at Ashville Jacks, and to Jacob from Alacare.
