Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Worthy Smith

Elizabeth Ann Worthy Smith, went to be with the Lord Saturday evening. She was born on January 30, 1943 in Clay County, Alabama and resided in Talladega for over 50 years.
She was a graduate of Talladega High School and Jacksonville State University. She was a retired educator and former Talladega City Board of Education Member. She was very passionate about children, education, foster children, and her community. Elizabeth was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a devoted wife, mother and Mee-Maw.
She was preceded in death by her parents Willis “Slim” and Jewel Worthy and brother Billy.
She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Doyle Wayne Smith, daughter Amy Smith and her significant other Brian Muenger and grandchildren Will Smith and Krista Davis. Her
sister- in-law Margaret Worthy, nephews Craig (Valerie), Corey, and Andrew Worthy, niece Madison and chosen family Susan Hunter.
Services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday November 3, 2016 at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel in Talladega with burial in Pine Hill Memorial Park. The services will be officiated by Brother Bobby Freeman and Brother Ferrell Morris. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday at Usrey Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Darren Whitworth, Jamie Wheeler, Jack Keith, Mike Parker, Corey Worthy, and Tommy Strickland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Jones, Wayne Hammonds and Pete Whitworth.
