Funeral service for Mrs. Cleate T. White Medders will be 6:00 pm Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Rev. Randy Howell officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 pm prior to services. Mrs. Medders passed away September 26, 2016 at St. Vincent’s East.
Mrs. Medders was a native of Calhoun County and a graduate of Anniston High School. She was employed for many years by Bill Stanford Automotive and Jim Preuitt Automotive in Talladega. She was Baptist by faith.
Cleate is preceded in death by her parents James Alfred and Mildred Louise White, and her sister Rebecca “Von” McGinnis.
She is survived by her husband Jerry J. Medders, Sr., daughter Michelle Swinford (Jack), son Jerry “Jay” Medders, Jr. (Tammy), sister Maryanne Gilmore (Bill), grandchildren Katie Swinford, Jorja Medders, Campbell Medders, Evan Medders, and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary ballbearers will be Bill Stanford, Jim Preuitt, and employees of Bill Stanford and Jim Preuitt Automotive.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, www.st.jude.org.
