Funeral service for Roland A. Allen, 75 of Talladega will be Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Andy Mims, Rev. Kevin Jones, Rev. John Whetstone, will officiate and burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park. His family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 pm. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct.
Mr. Allen went to be with the Lord at his home September 12, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Allen, daughter, Barbara Johnson, grandson, Robert Johnson, parents, Harvey and Rilla Allen, sisters, Bonnie and Barbara Allen, Peggy Hill, and Genell Harrell, brother, Carlton Allen.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was a huge Alabama fan. He was owner/operator of Texaco Service Center for more than 40 years.
Roland is survived by daughters, Venessa Babb (Warren Madden), Melita Davis (Howard), grandchildren, Kim Nobles (Bobby), Mark Davis (Amber), Allen Davis (Stephanie), Angeal Smith (Jason), and a host of great- grandchildren, brothers, Billy Allen (Linda), sister, Shirley Hill, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Adams, Chandler Riddley, Steve Cleveland, Bobby Hill, Jimmy Riddley and Ernest Clay.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.
