My sincere sympathy to the family and friends of John Landerfelt. It is a sad time, to have the passing of such a dear person. And to perhaps share some hope, please know that our Creator is not indifferent to your suffering. He will soon bring a complete solution. You can read this, in the Bible, at Isaiah 25:8 and Revelation 21:3,4. These verses bring comfort, and have been so for me. I am sorry for your loss.

I worked with John for over 25 years. When the Furnace shut down John came to Slagwool and was part of Mack Bailey's A TEAM. John was such a professional at all he did. Always working hard with a smile on his face. You could count on him to do a good job. And if he was tired just give him another cup of coffee and he would be right back at it. I will miss his laughter. My condolences to you for your lose....

I went to work with Sloss Industries about 4 years before Johnny did and I worked for his dad John Sr. Times were hard especially for men with young families and we were both in that category. That may be the reason John Sr took to me. One morning John Sr came up to me just fussing. Apparently Jr's work shoes wore out and he didn't have money to buy another pair. John Jr worked at night and John Sr worked days so that seem like a reasonable solution. John Jr thought I will just borrow dads shoes put them back in place in the morning so who is to know. One problem after working all night your mind is a little fuzzy and John Jr. forgot who the shoes belong too. John Sr came up to me with a smile on his face just fussing about it. John Sr said he took the gentleman to the store got him a new pair of shoes and that was why he was late for work.
