Funeral service for Phillip K. Marler, 67 of Talladega will be Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at the chapel of Usrey Funeral Home. Rev. Korey Burel will officiate and burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. His family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega.
Mr. Marler passed away September 7, 2016 at his home.
Mr. Marler is preceded by his son, Jeffery Wayne Marler, parents, Joe and Laveral Marler.
Phillip was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega. He was a honest hard working man that will be truly missed. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, Alabama Fan, and NASCAR fan. He was retired form Kimberly Clark with 35 years of service.
His survivors include his wife of 25 years, Gail B. Marler, son, Shannon Blake Marler (Amanda), Anthony Scott Marler, step-daughter, Barbara Cordell Blackwood (Brent), grandchildren, Kyle Hall, Bowie Blackwood, Taylor Hall, great-grandchildren, Crimson Marler, Alexis Marler, Houston Stephens, Greysen Stephens, Jaxson Stephens, brothers, Joel Marler (Shirley) and Robert Marler (Joy), along with several nieces and nephews, special family members; Edward and Krystal Edwards, Emily Ann Wallace, Anna Kate Wallace, and Michael Wallace.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Marler, Christian Marler, Todd Owens, Chris Quarles, Patrick Boggs, and Eric Abbott.
Honorary pallbearers, Keith Taylor.
