Ronald E. Jackson “RJ” was born August 7, 1941 and passed away on Sept. 4, 2016. He was the only child of BT Jackson and Robbie St. John Jackson. They lived in Alabama their whole life. Ronnie graduated from Pell City High School in 1959. He played football there and loved it. He then served in the Air Force for 4 years. He married Jeanetta Walker in 1962, and they had 4 boys, Mark, Jeff, Kerry and Michael. After getting out of the Air Force they moved to Ragland, Alabama. He worked at Ragland Pipe Shop, Conners Steel in Birmingham, and then he was self-employed. He loved drag racing and round track racing and loved to watch Alabama football games. He loved to tell his stories. He married Gloria Kiser in 2005. At the time of his death he was single and living in Pell City. He was preceded in death by both his mother and his father. Mr. Jackson is survived by 4 sons, Mark Jackson, Jeff Jackson, and Kerry Jackson of Ragland, and Michael Jackson of Ragland and Elk City, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, Heather Hailey and her husband Bo of Birmingham, Ty Jackson and wife Margot of Maywood, California, Gracie Jackson of Houston, Misissippi, Savannah Jackson of Ragland, and Makenzie Jackson of Sterret; 2 great-grandchildren, Jackson Hailey of Birmingham and Aria Jackson of Maywood, California, and by many cousins and friends. At his request there will be no service, as it was his wish that his ashes be put at Ragland, Alabama where his parents are laid to rest. The family would like to thank Gloria for being there for him and would also like to thank everyone else that called and checked on him or sat with him at the hospital. Also, for all the prayers and the food, we thank you all. The Jackson family.
