Tressie Marie Bates Knight, 79 of Talladega went to her heavenly home on June 6, 2016. Funeral services will be held 3:30 pm Wednesday June 8,2016 at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel in Talladega with burial in Stockdale cemetery, Rev. Martin Murray and Rev. Wayne Hester will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday at funeral home from 5:00 – 8:00pm. She is preceded in death by her parents John W. and Mary Tucker Bates, 2 daughters Tammie Jean Knight McNeal and Teresa Marie Knight Sturdivant. She is survived by her husband Edwin “Jimbo” Knight, daughters, Elizabeth (Kenneth) Allen, Johnnie Hollis, Samantha (Bobby) Weldon, Susan (Terry) Monroe, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, sister Bertha (Sonny) Smith and brother John Bates. Tressie was employed at Palm Beach for 28 years. Pallbearers will be Joey Hollis, Dillon Franklin, Sean Johnson, Terry Smith, Matt Lackey, Scott Peters and Dustin Clayburn. Honorary Pallbearers Clarence Haynes and Bill Perry. The family would like to thank Citizens Hospice for taking care of our mother.
