James Luther “Bubby” Bowman October 18, 1926- May 14, 2016 of Talladega. Funeral services for James Luther "Bubby" Bowman, 89, will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Usrey Funeral Home In Talladega, Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Bowman died May 14, 2016 at his residence. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Kinyard Bowman and Alberta Farmer Bowman; Brothers, William "Bill" Bowman, Fred "Bud" Bowman and Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Bowman Ray. Survivors include his beloved wife of 68 years, Lillian McWilliams Bowman; daughters, Melanie Bowman Armbrester and Cindy Bowman Taylor; Son-in-law, Steven T. Taylor; Grandsons, James Christopher Welcher (Linda), Matthew McWilliams Armbrester (Mandy) and James Robert Gaither (Allison). Great-grandchildren, Kyle Welcher, Ryan Welcher, Santana Welcher Mellon, Hayes Armbrester, Charlie Armbrester, Landon Gaither and Georgia Gaither. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and many friends. Mr. Bowman was a lifelong resident of Talladega and a Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, serving in both the Army and the Air Force. He was an electrician by trade, a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and a member of the American Legion, Post 17. Pallbearers will be Chris Welcher, Matt Armbrester, Jim Gaither, Steve Taylor, Greg McWilliams and Kyle Welcher. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike McWilliams, Johnny McWilliams, James Earl Farmer, Phillip Bowman, Terry Brown, James Wilhelm, Roland McWilliams, Troy McWilliams, Gerald Bussey and Buster Braswell. The family wishes to thank New Beacon Hospice and a special thanks to Sid Gambrell, Kim Gaither, Maria Huerano, Tena McGarity, Kelby Taylor and Patricia Davis.
