Obituary of Joseph Sidney Pomeroy

Joseph Sidney Pomeroy born 6-21-1927 and passed away at home on 2-28-2014 He is the son of the late Frank and Alice Pomeroy and also preceded in death by wife Martha Sims Pomeroy and 6 brothers and sisters. He was a member of Winterboro Baptist Church, Retired from Kimberly Clark and served on the Talladega County Board of Education from 1976 until 1988. Served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his 4 sons, Joe (Crystal) Pomeroy, Jack (Dawn) Pomeroy, Jim (Terri) Pomeroy and Jeff Pomeroy, 6 grandsons David (Renee), Jason, David, Shawn, Josh and Steven Pomeroy granddaughter Bethany (Kyle) Paris, great grandchildren Ivy and Sydney, brother John (Kaye) Pomeroy and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday March 3 2014 at 11am at The Winterboro Baptist Church with The Rev. Tom Simic officiating burial will follow in the Winterboro Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friend Sunday from 5pm until 8 pm at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers honorary pallbearers will be Don Harville, Paul Hayes, Billy Matthews and Roy Strickland. Usrey Funeral Home Talladega will direct.
