Madge Allen Parks, 99, of Talladega passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at Talladega Health Care. Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Pine Hill Memorial Park with Terry Barksdale officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 Wednesday at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega.
Mrs. Parks was born on January 3, 1917 in Talladega County to Henry and Pauline Allen. She graduated from Childersburg High School in 1935 and married Mr. B.B. Parks that same year. They were happily married for 54 years. She and her husband operated B.B. Parks Grocery in Talladega. Madge was a member of First Baptist Church in Talladega, Eastern Star, and the Red Bud Club. She received many awards for her flower arrangements in Garden Club Federation flower shows.
Madge is survived by her daughter Florence Kaylor (Guy), sister Virginia Ingram, brothers John Allen (Mary), George Allen (LouAnn), grandchildren Karan Bush (Tim), Clay Kaylor (Janet), Ann Clarke (David), eight great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Evilou Smith.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to First Baptist Church. 216 North St., E., Talladega, AL 35160.
