Charles “Cotton” Ledbetter, 82 of Talladega, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Brookwood Citizens BMC. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Friday, April 15, 2016 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Rev. Danny Cotton will officiate. Cotton was a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Waldo. He was retired from Kimberly Clark and was an avid golfer, bird hunter/guide, and bowler. Cotton played football for the Army in Europe in the mid 1950’s and semi-pro football for the Gadsden Raiders. He was a graduate of Munford High School Class of 1953. He is preceded in death by his daughters Linda L. Freeman and Angela L. Harding. He is survived by his wife Norma Self Ledbetter, daughters Esther L. Sivley (Larry), Alecia B. Perry (Mike), sons Wayne Ledbetter (Shelia), Lauris Ledbetter (Lynn), 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, sisters Elizabeth Bues, Rebecca Murphy, and brother Ed Ledbetter. Pallbearers will be Wayne Nelson, David Self, Danny Bannister, David Ledbetter, Mike Perry, and Rick Hollingsworth. Honorary pallbearers will be Coosa Pines Golf Buddies.
