Roy William Frost, 81, of Pell City, Alabama passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Betty Mason Frost; father, Charles; mother, Minnie; brothers Charles, Jacob and David; and sisters Ruby and Phyllis. He is survived by sons Ed Frost of Atlanta, GA; Fred (Sandra) Frost of Pell City, AL; and Scott (the late Lora) Frost of Lawton, OK. Roy has 5 grandchildren, Curtis (Katie) Frost, Brian (Victoria) Frost, Stephanie Frost, William (Michelle) Frost and Savannah (Phillip) DiRoma; great-grandchildren Sean, Hermione, Kaden, Kailen and Madeline; sister Wanda Frost Mills of Ewing, VA; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Roy was known for his love of Model A Fords (and had a large collection of those) as well as a vast knowledge of antique automobiles. He won countless National 1st place awards and Best in Shows. He was the owner of the former Big Boys Toys antique automobile restorations, Frost Plastics in Pell City and Blue Diamond Plastics located in Memphis,TN and Middlesboro, KY. Roy was born November 20, 1934 in Middleton, KY, the proud son of a coal miner. He was always working odd jobs and tinkering with bicycles and cars which earned him the nick name “Tink”. In this he never grew up, as he tinkered for 81 years. He is greatly missed but will live in our hearts forever.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City with burial at Valley Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
