Graveside service for Doris Spraggins Strickland, 91 of Alpine will be Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Pine Hill Memorial Park. Pastor Brad Mitchell will officiate. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 5-7 pm at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega.
Mrs. Strickland passed away March 18, 2016 at Coosa Valley Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her husband W. T. Strickland, parents, George and Lilly Spraggins, daughter, Lou Rainey Boggs.
She was a native and life resident of Alpine and a member of Alpine Baptist Church. Loved baking her caramel cakes and quilting.
She is survived by her son, Tom Strickland (Cindy), granddaughters, Joylyn Boggs, Jaime Strickland Lightfoot (Taylor) Ashlee Strickland Thompson (Spencer), great-grandsons, Thomas and Grant Lightfoot, several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Henry Spraggins, David Parks, Jack Morris, Allen Vincent, Mike Gay, Harold Pruitt, Spencer Thompson and Taylor Lightfoot. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
In lieu of flowers Alpine Baptist Cemetery Fund c/o Stan Thomas 101 Creekside Circle, Talladega, AL 35160.
