Garland Davis, 79, of Pell City, Alabama passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at St. Vincent's Saint Clair hospital. Garland was born at the old Pell City hospital to Gilbert and Lillie Mae Davis. He called Pell City his home all his life.
Garland was a faithful servant of our Lord, Jesus Christ. He was a loving husband to Juanita (Jackson) Davis and the father of Donald Davis and Jeff Davis.
Garland is survived by his wife and best friend, Juanita (Jackson) Davis, his son Jeff Davis, his wife Wanda (Dillard) Davis, Karen Davis, daughter in law, Jayla Davis, granddaughter, Jana (Davis) Falkner, granddaughter, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Garland lived life well each day. He was a deacon at Arbor Baptist Church. He held the office of Scripture Fund Chairman for the East Camp Gideons, Gideons International. He worked at Connors Steel and SMI of Birmingham, Alabama. He with his wife and two sons were poultry growers for Tyson Foods. He was an avid gardner of vegetables and fruit. He often wrote award winning poetry for family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City, Wednesday, March 16th from 5 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be Thursday, March 17th at 12 noon at Usrey with the Rev. Gordon Lee and the Rev. Keith Ray officiating.
