I would like to extend my condolences to Frat Bro Cheeks. We were members of the same Alpha Chapter in Blacksburg, Va.. We shared a lot of memories together as I will never forget when we escorted the Virgnia Tech Chapter of Alpha to Tuskegee Homecoming in the early '90's. I must admit that his passing comes as news to me. If someone from his Family if they see this please give me a call at 786-423-8151. My name is Fredric M. Toney.

Dwight Cheeks was a great man and friend of mine. He was such a positive individual. I have very good memories of our time together on the Talladega RD. I wish the Best for his family. I would like Andrew to know that his father was loved and respected by many. He was blessed with a wonderful role model and father. Folks up here in Virginia retell many stories of Dwight's time on the Eastern Divide RD- all reflect on how much they enjoyed him. I wish the best for the family of this great man.

A wise and wonderful friend. We walked many a trail together. Sometimes brushing and clearing an old trail. Sometimes creating our own new ones. Always a chess set in his pack, and a smile on his face. He reminded me to sit back and rest when I can, there will be plenty of work to be done when we get there. Beth and Andrew, You may always call on me to repay the service that Dwight did for myself and for others.

I have truly lost a very dear co-worker and an absolutely wonderful friend! Dwight you will be missed terribly! When you retired, I missed you stopping by my desk to chat and have a good laugh and now that you're gone, I'm going to miss you stopping by the office to say hello! We had some fun times together! Beth and Andrew my heart goes out to you and may God continue to bless you both with strength and comfort during this difficult time. Dwight really and truly loved you both. He talked about you all the time! Even though he won't be with us physically anymore, he'll always be with us spiritually and in our hearts! Rest peacefully my dear friend! I LOVE YOU!!!

I am sorry to hear about Dwight, he was (and always will be) a part of our Forest Service family here in Alabama. He taught me a lot about birding , He was one of the best at picking out bird calls. I will always remember the music he played at Unity Days as well. May God presents help his family thru this time of grieving. He surely will be missed.

To the Family of Mr. B .Dwight Cheeks,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss, may the peace mention at Philippians 4:6,7 sustain you and yours during this sad occasion. I know that the family must be going through emotional stress which is natural because God made us to live not die (Genesis 1:26-28). Though this is a sad time there is a promise that Christ Jesus gave that is for our encouragement and it is at John 5:28,29 "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". What a wonderful expectation, just think about a time when we will be able to welcome back our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. This is no dream remember Lazarus, Jesus Christ friend? He was dead for four days, Jesus called and he came out, (John 11:11-14,38-44). Now where was Lazarus when Jesus raised him from the dead? he was asleep in death. One day we will all welcome back to life our dead loved ones who have fallen asleep in death to live life free from sickness, sorrow, pain and death (Isaiah 25:; Isaiah 65:17-25 and Revelation 21:3-5).

My prayers go out to his wonderful family. My heart is so heavy now because he was the most humble, caring, intelligent, respectful man I have ever met in the work place. Dwight was the type of person always had a positive word to say to everyone. I know your hearts are heavy just turn to Psalms 23 and God will give you the strength you need. May God be with your entire family.

My sincere condolences to the Cheeks Family. I have known Dwight for the past 14 years, since my starting to work at the National Forests in Alabama. I had the wonderful pleasure of speaking to him on many occasions when he frequented the NFs in Alabama Supervisor's Office in Montgomery. He was very knowledgeable, and such a joy to engage in conversation with. My prayers are extended to the family....I hope you find strength in knowing, Dwight is now present with the Lord, and talking with God and the angels in heaven. God bless!

My deepest condolences to all the family of Dwight. He was such an inspirational and inspiring individual. I had the pleasure of working with Dwight during my years (2001-2009) on the National Forests in Alabama Supervisors Office and he was always a joy to talk with and receive positivity in what sometimes could be trying situations. I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing today and while reflecting on the encouraging words he gave me as I embarked on with my career to the National Forests in Florida, I will always cherish his friendship and kind words. I pray that God will continue to give the family strength and that you will cherish all the wonderful memories you have of your loved one knowing that he touched many lives and made a meaningful impact on the lives he touched. God Bless you. With Deepest Sympathies, Michele Robertson

Beth and Drew, I'm so sorry to hear of Dwight's passing. He was a wonderful person, friend and co-worker to me. He taught me so much and shared so much history with me over the past 14 years. He would send me your family's yearly newsletter, which I enjoyed reading. He was so proud of Drew and thought the world of you both, but I know you already know that. You and your family are in my prayers. I will miss Dwight, but I have great memories! God bless you during this time.
