Obituary of Perlie Edward Herron

Funeral service for Perlie E. Herron, 82 of Talladega, will be Thursday July 9, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Usrey Funeral Home. Rev. Jeff Rutledge will officiate and burial will be in Stockdale Baptist Cemetery. His family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 pm and Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct.
Mr. Herron passed away July 5, 2015 at NEARMC in Anniston.
He was preceded in death by parents, David E. Herron and Minnie Alice Herron, and son, Ronnie Herron.
He was a native of Sullivan County TN, and a resident of Talladega since 1968. He was a retired US Army Veteran, serving 2 terms in Vietnam. The Purple Heart, The Sharp Shooting Medals, and The Bronze Star were a few medals he received. He was a deacon at Stockdale Baptist Church and Grace Community Church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jennie S. Herron, daughter, Sheila Herron, sons, Mike Herron (Stellanna), Michael Bolton Herron, grandchildren, Keith Herron, Brittany Herron, Eric Baird, Santanna Baird, Jason Herron, 3 great-grandchildren, Landon, William and Abrellia, brother, Charlie Herron, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Deacons of Stockdale Baptist and Grace Community Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project @ www.woundedwarriorsprojects.org
