Funeral service for Rodney “Rod” Lynn Johnson, II, 28 of Lincoln will be Friday, June 26, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Dry Valley Baptist Church. Rev. Donny Thompson will officiate and burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. His family will receive friends at the church Friday from 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct.
Rod passed away June 22, 2015 at UAB.
Rod was preceded in death by grandparents, John Morrison and Shirley Morrison Nabors, Jim and Mary Johnson.
He was a native of Talladega and a graduate of Lincoln High School where he played football and baseball. He loved meeting people and never met a stranger. Loved to play golf, fishing and hunting. Always had a big heart for his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Kellye M. Calhoun (Frankie), father, Rodney Johnson, Sr., brother, Jon Johnson, sister, Zoe Johnson, Jean Wallace (Nanny Jean) several aunts, uncles, and cousins,
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Howard, Blake Mullinax, Tyrone Mitchum, Ken Sisk, Mike Mullinax, Jay Brasher, Reb Blanchard and Hollis Shifles.
Honorary pallbearers will be L.H.S. graduating Class of 2005.
