Obituary of Mildred Edge Ford
Please share a memory of Mildred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mildred Ford… A virtuous woman …her price is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10
Matthew 5:16 “ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. “ This verse was so exemplified by the life of Mildred Edge Ford who met the Savior she so loved face-to-face May 5, 2015. Her life was such an example and she was such a mentor to hundreds in applying the truths of God’s precious Word to her daily life.
She was known and loved for her beautiful and generous smile and her unmatched gift of hospitality. Hundreds of people were enriched by her delicious cooking and sweet Christian fellowship that was provided in the home of Mildred and Doug Ford.
She daily lived out the truths of Titus 2:3-5 “ The aged women …be in behaviour as becometh holiness …teachers of good things…teach the young women …to love their husbands, to love their children…keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands.” And how she did love her husband, Pastor Douglas Ford, to whom she was 11 days shy of being married to for 70 years. Even through her sickness she never stopped believing in, praising, and encouraging him. Nor did she ever stop loving his two deep dimples.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Bessie Edge, and brother Don Edge. She lived in Ragland her entire 88 years.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Doug, two daughters, Carolyn Rose (Ed), Becky Cox (Randy), four sons, Steve (Debbie), Dan (Pat), Tim, Sam (Stephanie), 15 grand children, 23 great-grand children, and sister Helen Bryant.
