Obituary of Imogene Pearce Self

Funeral service for Mrs. Imogene Pearce Self 88, of Oxford, will be Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at 2:00 pm at Usrey Brown-Service Funeral Home. Christy Dodson, and Chaplin Jack York will officiate and burial will be in Coldwater Baptist Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Mrs. Self passed away May 4, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Self loved her family and was known for Sunday dinners and quilt making. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Farmer Pearce, son Curtis Lamar Self and foster child, Kathy Muldoon. Survivors include her husband, Curtis D. Self, daughter, Norma (Cotton) Ledbetter, daughter, Jane (Wayne) Nelson, daughter, Pam (James) Bishop, son, David (Denise) Self, sisters, Gwendolyn Abernathy, Catherine McCurry, brother, Marion (Sue) Pearce, 7 grandchildren, Angelique (Phillip) Pitts, Alecia (Mike) Perry, Christy (Shannon) Dodson, Shannon (Daniel) Watts, Magen (Stephen) Harper, Jared (Dusti) Welch, Joey Welch, and 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Rusty Blades, Ronald Self, Roger Self, Freddie Griffin, James Turner, and Donald Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Cheaha Good Sam's Club. The family would like to thank special family friend and caretaker Lucy Jenkins, and caregiver Janice Ledbetter.
