Obituary of Thomas E. Hopkins

Funeral service for Mr. Thomas E. Hopkins, 70 who passed away after an extended illness, will be Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He will lie in state one hour prior to service. Rev. Cal McIntire and Jon Adams will officiate and burial will be in Bethlehem Methodist Cemetery in Clay County. His family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 PM at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Mr. Hopkins passed away August 11, 2013 at Citizens BMC. Thomas was a native and life long resident of Talladega, member and deacon of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, member of Masonic Lodge 261 F&AM, Past Patron of Talladega Chapter #363 OES. He was a retired machinist and retired Alabama Army National Guard. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Annie Hopkins He was a loving Husband, Father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Ann P. Hopkins, daughter, Sandra McNeely, granddaughter, Morgan McNeely. Pallbearers will be Terry Prickett, David Walton, Benny Horne, Edgar Horne, Ray Hayes, Jimmy Posey, Michael Jones, and Winston Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge 261 F&AM and Charlie Mitchell. Online condolence may be sent to usreyfuneralhome.com
