Obituary of Chester F. Burk

Chester F. Burk, 76 of Talladega, passed away, at the home of his daughter Sheila, January 29, 2014. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the chapel of Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Brother Rodger Hayes and Ricky Burk will officiate and burial will be in Midway Memory Gardens. His family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. He was a native of Pell City and a longtime resident of Talladega. He severed three tours in Vietnam, where he was awarded The Purple Heart and The Bronze Star. He was an avid football fan and loved fishing. He was born to the late John O’Neal Burk and the late Faye Franklin Burk. He is preceded in death by his wife Sandra Burk, brothers, William O’Neal, Charles M. and Billy G. Burk. He is survived by his children, Sheila (Don) Smith, Connie (James) Davis, Anita (Greg) Mayo, step-daughter, Carla (Chris) Hill, twin brother, Millard Lester (Evelyn) Burk, and extended family Jeff (Cindy) Burk, Angie Burk Pierce and Linda Bowman, along with 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several niece and nephews. Pallbearers will be Torry Burk, Timmy Burk, Ricky Burk, Jack Burk, Tim Sullivan and Davis Gaither.

6:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, January 31st, 2014 at Usrey Brown Service Funeral Home Talladega (map/driving directions)
