Obituary of Sharon L. Bonner

Sharon L (Seybert) Bonner of Pell City, AL went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on June 6, 2013. She was born in Anderson, Indiana on April 18, 1940 to Myron S. and Georgia H. Seybert. Sharon graduated from Anderson High School in 1958 and from Ball State Teaching College in 1960. She was affiliated with the Chi Omega Sorority while at Ball State. Later, Sharon was Executive Secretary in the Adult Education Department at Purdue University where she worked for Dr. Merle McClure and Dean Earl Butz, head of the Entomology Department. The family moved to Rose Hill, Kansas in 1977 where she became an Elementary and Middle School secretary for 11 years. She then worked at All Saints Catholic School where she was secretary for K-12 students in Wichita, Kansas for 3 years. Sharon had lived in 5 states and had many friends. She always kept in touch with them through e-mails and by phone. Her greatest love was always her family. She loved being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had been a Cub Scout den mother and a Girl Scout Brownie leader. Her hobbies included oil painting, gardening, music, fishing, traveling and Nascar. She loved being with her close friends and family. She was a member of Cropwell Baptist Church in Cropwell, Alabama. Survivors include her son, Gregory Stinson and wife Amy of Riverside, Alabama and her daughter, Lisa A. Hamill and husband Alex of Clearwater, Kansas; 5 grandchildren, Grant, Linley, and Heath Stinson and Alexis Walton all of Riverside, Alabama and Kylee Hamill Stevens and husband Leon of Anniston; and by 2 great grandchildren, Bryson Stevens and Westin Stinson. She is also survived by a sister, Shirley Aubrey and husband Russell of Anderson, Indiana. She has 1 niece, Heather Boulware and husband Paul; 1 nephew, Cary Aubrey and wife Sarah; and 2 great nephews, Austin and Kannin Boulware, all of Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Bonner; parents, Myron S. and Georgia H. Seybert; grandparents Fred and Mattie Seybert and Richard and Kathryn Boze; and by a great grandson, Dakota Ryan Hamill-Stevens. Funeral services will be held at Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City, Alabama on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with with Dr. Phillip Burden officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 PM and Saturday from 9-11 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Clair Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lakeside Hospice or to Cropwell Baptist Church.
