Obituary of Charlotte Baswell Nix

Charlotte Baswell Nix, 77, of Coal City, Alabama passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4th, 2013 while surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and unforgettable friend.
Charlotte retired from the Alabama Department of Transportation in 1998 after 23 years of service.
She was a member of Cropwell Baptist Church, Pell City Line Dancers, Charter member and former Chaplain of the Pell City Elks Lodge.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Herbert Leon Nix, sister Janice Motes, children Benny (Denise) Thackerson, Tammy (Garland) Brock, Pamela (Phil) Dobbs, Anita (Jeff) Massey, Kenneth Nix and Belinda Hall. grandchildren Brooke, Lauren, Hailey, Jennifer, Paige, Kendra, Angela, Brock, Justin, and Eric, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews including a special niece Tina Maddux.
Funeral service will be Thursday, May 9th at 7 PM at Usrey Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 5 PM. Graveside service will be Friday at 11 AM at Harkey's Chapel.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Relay for Life or Camp Smile a Mile.
