Obituary of Miriam Edith Nixon Pennington

Her survivors include her daughter Elaine Matson (John) of White Plains, son Troy D. Pennington of Nashville, TN, grandchildren, Tara P. Kinney (Stephen), John M. Matson, Jr. (Lauren), Kelly Matson, Amber Markham, Lauren Pennington, 9 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Leon Nix, along with several nieces and nephews.
Miriam will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Well known for her delicious Southern cuisine, she hosted countless friends, family and guests at her dining room table. God gave Miriam a servants heart and she honored Him by selflessly giving her time and resources to help others.
She was a native of St. Clair County and a long time resident of Talladega County. She was a member of The Christian and Missionary Alliance Church for 68 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Troy R. Pennington and several brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be John M. Matson, Jr., Stephen Kinney, Travis Prestridge, Gerald Beverly, Randy Miller and Robert Gambrell, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Johnson, Mike Gardner, Bobby Hardegree, Leon Nix, Phillip Willis and Ed East.
The Reverend David Jones will officiate the services.
