Mrs. Golden passed away January 22, 2013 at Talladega Health Care. She was a native and life long resident of Talladega County, a member of Providence Baptist Church and the Red Hats Society. She loved to crochet and everyone was her friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lathan and Ruth Smith, son, Lee Golden and an infant son, sister, Patsy Smith Gurly, brothers, Lathan Grant Smith, Jr., Kenneth Lee Smith. “Jean” is survived by her children, Ethel Golden, Billy Golden, William Golden, sisters, Carra Smith Strickland, Mary Smith Fowler, Martha Smith Malone, Becky Smith, brothers, James Smith, Phillip Smith, David Smith, Eddie Paul Smith, and special friend, Betty Spratlin and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Terry Fowler, Andy Fowler, Anthony Fowler, Christopher Strickland, Adam Hendon and Edward Hendon. Honorary pallbearers will be RPS Ambulance Service, Jim Spratlin and Jeremy Fowler.
