William Alfred "Mitch" Mitchell, beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at the Durham VA Medical Center on December 6, 2012, at the age of 61. Born to Alfred and Billie Jane Mitchell in Talladega, Alabama on May 19, 1951, Mitch graduated from Talladega High School in 1969 and later attended Gadsden State and an U.S. Navy Veteran. Mitch was a loyal friend and had many close, lifelong friendships. He was an avid golfer and reader and enjoyed biographies, politics, and Alabama football. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Andi and Jon Coloff, daughter Molly Bailey and granddaughter Margot Jane Bailey, sister Debbie Hood (Jim), brother Carey Mitchell (Donna), sister Beth Martin, ex-wife, Chris; five nieces, Amy, Paige, Karlye, Katelyn, and Kaylee; two nephews, Micky and Nicholas; devoted aunts Nellie Mann and Edna Earl Brown and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Graveside service will be January 19, 2013 at 11 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at gravesite from 10:30 -11 AM.
