Obituary of Harry Reed Moore

H. Reed Moore, III of Talladega passed away Friday, November 9th at the age of 64. Born in Tampa, FL, he lived the majority of his life in Talladega. He was a 1966 graduate of Talladega High School, attended the University of Alabama and earned a degree from Jacksonville State and the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking. Moore was a past President of the Talladega Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club and several other organizations. He served as a Director at Citizens Hospital, on the Talladega Airport Board and many other civic organizations. Moore was also a long time Director of the Community Bankers Association of Alabama - directly tied to his long time career as a community banker at First National Bank. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Talladega and the Whosoever Will Men's Bible Class.
Moore is survived by his wife of 42 years Rita Dear Moore; sons H.R. "Chip" Moore, IV & wife Shannon, William Lewis Moore & wife Katie, and Andrew Luker Moore; parents Harry R. and Evelyn Moore; and sister, Linda Harrison & husband Ed, uncle, A.D. Lewis and wife Sandyniece, Britni Martin and nephews, Troy Alan Smith and William Reed Harrison.
Moore was known in the community for his integrity, wisdom and willingness to be a good friend to anyone. He enjoyed spending time with his family at the beach as well as hunting and fishing. For the past five years, his main hobby has been his grandchildren. "Daddy Reed" is also survived by Harrison Reed, Margaret Reed "Maggie", Wyatt Raymond and Lucy Frances.
The family of Mr. Moore will have private graveside services. They will receive friends Monday, November 12, 2012 at 2:30 PM at The Whosoever Will Mens Bible Class.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Whosoever Will Mens Bible Class of First Baptist Church of Talladega, Board of Directors of First National Bank of Talladega.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the Whosoever Will Mens Bible Class,
