Mr Thornton died Thursday, November 4, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Roanoke, AL, lived most of his life in Talladega. He was a member of Stockdale Baptist Church and was a veteran of Korea & Vietnam, where he served 4 years in the Navy and retired from the Air Force. He is preceded in death by his daughter Nellie Sue Thornton. Mr. Thornton is survived by his wife, Erie Pauline Thornton of Talladega, Son, William Glen Thornton (Leesa), Son, Johnny Ray Thornton (Reita), Sister, Sharon Morgan (Billy), 13 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren Visitation will be Saturday, November 6, 2010, 6 to 8 pm. at Usrey. Pallbearers are Joe Collum, Fred Roberts, Jimmy Cronan, Jimmy Foster, Joey Foster, Adam Foster. Honorary pallbear is Steven Morgan. Usrey Funeral Home will direct the services.
