Funeral service for Kermit Fields, 98, of Talladega, will be Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11 AM at The Talladega Church of Christ. Travis Conner and Ron Hurst will officiate and burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Park. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct. His family will receive friends Saturday from 10-11 AM at the church. Mr. Fields passed away October 24, 2012 in Tuscaloosa. He was a native of Clay County and a longtime resident of Talladega. He served during WW II in the US Navy, he was a member of Talladega Church of Christ and was retired from the US Postal Service with 35 years of service. He is preceded in death by his wives: Nonnie T. Fields and Hattie M. Fields, daughter, Linda Ford, brothers, Roy and Rex Fields, sisters. Lucille Forman, Ruth Williams, Blanche Alexander. Mr. Fields is survived by is daughter: Elizabeth Best (Roger) of Tuscaloosa, grandson: David Best (Darlene) of Nashville, grand daughter: Catherine Davis (Michael) of Southaven, MS, and great-grandchildren: Jonathan Best and Raygan Davis. Pallbearers will be David Best, Michael Davis, Walter Ward, Charles Forman, Hilton Dean and Roy Hollingsworth.
