Obituary of Ruby Hurst

Funeral service for Mrs. Ruby Hurst, 68, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5 at Usrey Chapel with the Rev. Andy Mims and the Rev. Sam Tate officiating. Burial will be at Stockdale Baptist Cemetery. Mrs. Hurst died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010 at Citizens BMC, Talladega. She was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega and a member of Stockdale Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by grandparents, John and Katie Parton, Ernest and Annie Mae Perkins; father-in-law, Charles Owen Hurst; one great-grandson, Mason Aleczander Crim. She was followed in death by her father, John V. Parton Sr. approximately six hours later. Survivors are her husband of 50 years, Larry Hurst of Talladega; mother, Edith Parton of Talladega; mother-in-law, Mattie Hurst of Talladega; daughters, Darlene Bishop (Russell) of Talladega, Stella Crim (Mike) of Talladega; five grandchildren, Mandy Wesley (Anthony), Christy Peters (Matt), Charles Crim (Melonie), Jason Bishop (Angela) and Jennifer Bishop; 14 great-grandchildren, Courtney, Anna, and Astrid Wesley, Jaylin and Jacie Peters, Madison, Owen, Cayla, Hunter, and Marley Crim, , Bryer and Ashtyn Bishop, Taylor Haynes, and Libby Graves; sister, Brenda Taylor of Talladega; and brother, Vinson Parton (Julia) of Talladega. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4 at Usrey. Pallbearers will be Mike Crim, Russell Bishop, Jason Bishop, Charles Crim, Johnny Hurst, and Josh Graves. The family will accept flowers or donations to the American Cancer Society . Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.
