Obituary of Carolyn Brown Bailes

Carolyn Marie Brown Bailes, 85, passed away peacefully August 8, 2010 at White Oak Manor, Rock Hill, South Carolina. A Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday October 4, 2010 at the Pine Hill Memorial Park, Highway 21, Talladega Al. The Reverend Bob Blackwell of Cullman Al. will be officiating. Mrs. Bailes was born Carolyn Marie Brown on December 26, 1924 in Birmingham, Al. where she married, was employed and started a family. She was a long time resident of Talladega, Al. In 2008, Mrs. Bailes moved to Rock Hill, SC. Mrs. Bailes was preceded in death by her son Earl Bailes Jr.; her husband C.E. Bailes, Sr., her parents; Charles G. Brown and Annie O’Neil Brown, and her seven older siblings. Mrs. Bailes is survived by her three children, Jeanette Green (Rawley), Marbury Al.; John C. Bailes, Goodwater, Al.; Elizabeth (Beth) Williams (David Hedgepeth) Rock Hill, SC.; stepdaughter Gale Chappell Geraldine, Al. and many grand and great grand children. The family will receive visitors after the service at a reception at Bingham Fellowship Hall, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 208 East Street East, Talladega, Al. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Peter’s Kitchen or Building Fund, P.O. Box 206, Talladega, Al. 35601. Usrey Funeral Home is handling local arrangements. Usrey Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
